Frankie

Speech Pathologist / Director

Frankie provides a space where all communication styles and social interactions are validated, and where authentic and meaningful communication can be practiced and developed. Frankie engages neuro-affirming practices, along with a suite of specialisations, to interpret behaviours and support the achievement of positive behaviour and effective communication.

Frankie, in addition to her Masters of Speech Therapy, has completed extensive professional development to enhance her expertise and provide the best outcomes for her clients.

Frankie’s is trained in trauma-sensitive and neuro-affirming practice, has completed the Lidcombe Program (stuttering), Autism Level Up , Nurturing Interoceptive Awareness (emotional regulation) Transgender Voice; and attends numerous annual conferences including Yellow Lady Bug Conference (Non Gvt Org, run by and for autistic girls, women, and gender-diverse, and their families) and CHADD ADHD National conference.

Frankie’s ongoing professional development reflect her commitment to ongoing learning and her company’s dedication to offering informed, contemporary, specialised, and supportive therapy services.

Outside of Frankie’s passion for Converse Therapy, her team and clients; Frankie and her family enjoy travelling, exploring life in different communities and countries, experiencing new cultures and lifestyles. Frankie also loves spending time at the beach, cold-water swimming, painting, and dancing.

Lauren

Speech Pathologist (Senior)

Lauren thinks of communication as a human right and enjoys helping people to develop all forms of communication skills. Lauren has a background in psychology and experience with a diverse client base, including those with neurological and brain injuries, neurodivergent children and young adults, and clients of all ages experiencing dysphagia. Lauren takes a functional and person-centred approach to her practice and is underpinned by neuroaffirming and trauma informed practice principles.

Lauren is trained in trauma informed and neurodiversity affirming practice, the Sounds Write program and the Lidcombe program. Lauren offers both online and face-to-face services in Canberra, and focusses on developing authentic therapeutic relationships to achieve meaningful outcomes for clients and their families.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys solving puzzles, sunrises/sunsets, live music and anything crafty.

Jacey (Chiao)

Speech Pathologist

Jacey is a qualified and registered Speech Pathologist, as well as an experienced early childhood, primary, and secondary school teacher in both Taiwan and Australia. With her rich background in education and her passion for communication, Jacey is committed to helping her clients achieve their goals through tailored, client-focused therapy sessions.

Fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese (Hokkien), and English, Jacey’s multilingual skills allow her to connect with diverse clients and families. Her warm, patient, and empathetic approach ensures that every session is both engaging and effective.

When she’s not in the clinic, Jacey loves spending time in nature, playing musical instruments, singing, dancing, practicing yoga, and exploring new cuisines. Her vibrant personality and dedication make her a valued member of the Converse Therapy team.

Isara

Speech Pathologist

Isara is a certified practising Speech Pathologist registered in both Thailand and Australia, with experience in private centre and hospital settings since 2014. Fluent in Thai and English, he has developed expertise in supporting adults with acquired communication differences, including aphasia and dysarthria following stroke, as well as cognitive–communication changes related to dementia and traumatic brain injury. Isara believes that communication is central to connection, identity, and quality of life.

Since joining Converse Therapy, Isara has embraced neuro-affirming practice, supporting authentic expression and ongoing professional development. He has also expanded his skills in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Isara has adapted his knowledge and experience to work alongside Converse’s paediatric clients, bringing a thoughtful, evidence-informed approach that centres each child’s unique strengths and values family collaboration.

Outside of work, Isara enjoys movies, music from the ’70s and ’80s, DSLR photography, exploring museums and cafés, writing, and occasionally playing the piano.

Lou Lou

Art Therapist

Lou Lou’s passion is creating and collaborating with children, to provide tools they can use to be able to safely support and manage their well-being.

Lou Lou focuses on providing an individual approach and helping children to explore various ways to process and learn from life experiences. Lou Lou supports developmental, and transitional stages through creative expression by facilitating a space for children to explore and express themselves, enabling them to create their own strategies.

When not working, Lou Lou enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to cafés, travelling, and exploring new places, as well as creating and exploring her own artistic expression.

Helina

Speech Pathologist

Helina is passionate about supporting paediatric clients to develop their communication skills. She takes an evidence-based, person-centred approach, ensuring therapy is both functional and meaningful for the children and families she works with.

Helina has a strong interest in research and has contributed to the field through her project, Parents as Partners in Achieving Optimal Intervention Intensity, which was featured on the Australian Broadcasting Network in 2022 and presented at Speech Pathology Australia’s national conference in 2023.

In addition to her clinical work, Helina runs a small business creating high-quality, evidence-based resources for speech pathology practice. She is excited to bring her knowledge and creativity to her role at Converse.

Outside of work, Helina enjoys ballet, craft, and creating in the kitchen.

Chélyn

Occupational Therapist

Chélyn is an experienced AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of practice across psychosocial disabilities, rehabilitation, and community care. She is passionate about supporting participants and families to thrive in their daily lives by helping them build skills, confidence, and independence in ways that feel meaningful and achievable—ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.

Her clinical background spans a wide range of settings, including supporting neurodivergent participants with emotional regulation and sensory needs, guiding young people and adults through significant psychosocial health challenges, assisting adults recovering from stroke or brain injury, and enabling older adults to maintain independence and wellbeing. This breadth of experience allows her to bring a holistic perspective to paediatric practice.

She takes a functional, person-centred approach grounded in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and culturally safe principles. Working collaboratively with each participant and their family, she develops strategies that fit naturally into everyday routines while fostering resilience and long-term success.

Having recently immigrated to Perth from New Zealand, she enjoys exploring new places in Perth, across Australia, and abroad, while balancing the joyful chaos of life as a wife and mum to two boys aged three and nine.

Jess

Allied Health Assistant / Literacy Intervention Specialist

Jess brings a unique and passionate approach to literacy intervention, shaped by her extensive experience in education and allied health. Her journey is deeply personal, driven by her role as a mother to two neurodivergent daughters, one with very complex disabilities. This lived experience has given Jess an intimate understanding of the challenges families face, fuelling her commitment to providing tailored support that helps all children thrive in their communication and learning environments. Jess's dedication is rooted in her desire to see every child reach their full potential, with a strong emphasis on ensuring families are supported every step of the way.

Jess has completed professional development in various areas, including SPELD SA Tutor Training, Sounds-Write, Little Learners Love Literacy, DIBELS, Support Coordination, Peaceful Kids, So Safe, and Learn to Play Therapy. Her ongoing commitment to professional growth reflects her dedication to offering informed and effective support to the children and families she works with.

Outside of her professional life, Jess enjoys spending time with her family and running a not-for-profit organisation that supports children living with disabilities. This work is a testament to her deep-seated passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Jordan

Practice Manager / Director

Bringing over 8 years of experience in the disability sector. His background provides a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, complemented by training with the Australian Childhood Foundation and experience collaborating with allied health professionals to develop therapeutic plans tailored to individual needs.

Jordan is passionate about ensuring that clients and their families receive the highest quality care. He is dedicated to continuously improving processes and systems within Converse Therapy to provide a seamless experience for clients, families, and employees alike.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending quality time with his family, sailing, hiking, diving, and all things outdoors.
